The Los Angeles Rams are in the midst of a very successful season, not just Super Bowl contenders but also possibly housing the future MVP and OPOY of the 2025-26 season.
With a team filled with some of the league's best on both sides of the ball and an aging yet still high-caliber QB in Matthew Stafford, sometimes rookies can get cast aside in pursuit of the ultimate goal.

That's exactly what happened to the Rams' rookie TE, Terrance Ferguson.
In a crowded TE, including players like Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson, it was tough for Ferguson to get snaps initially, but once he did, due to injuries, he made the most of his time on the field.

Tyler Higbee is the definitive starting TE for the Los Angeles Rams, with Colby Parkinson being a valuable backup. When Higbee went down with a hip injury in Week 5, however, Ferguson stepped in after two DNPs at the coach's decision.
Since then, he's amassed nine catches for 177 yards and two TDs, including one in last Thursday night's thriller against the Seahawks.
A good chunk of his utility has come out of the Rams using him in their 13 personnel to set up their fantastic running game with Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Sean Mcvay has certainly taken notice of the rookie.

McVay says, "I think it's been steady and I think it's been something that you're really excited about how bright his future is because all he's doing is getting better. He's so coachable. He's secure enough to be able to acknowledge the areas that he can improve."
When you're getting this kind of praise from one of the most elite coaches in the game, that's typically a sign that you'll be around for a while in this league.
