ESPN NFL analyst thinks these accolades will put Matthew Stafford in the GOAT conversation image

Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams are 11-4 on the season and have clinched a playoff berth, which will begin in the next couple of weeks.

Stafford has also put together one of the best seasons of his career with over 4,000 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and only five interceptions at 37 years of age, and is a top MVP candidate along with Patriots second-year quarterback, Drake Maye.

Winning the MVP award would not only be impressive given his age, but ESPN's NFL analyst and former quarterback, Dan Orlovsky, believes that bigger prizes, paired with the regular-season award, could elevate him to new heights.

On Monday's edition of "First Take", Orlovsky gave his thoughts on how the perception of Stafford's career can change with a successful postseason run.

"If Stafford wins MVP, and he wins the Super Bowl. I think it puts him in the conversation for one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time." Orlovsky said.

Before that statement, the former Detroit Lion gave many praises to the veteran to back his point. Can we blame Orlovsky for saying this?

Prior to arriving at the Rams in 2021, Stafford was already a phenomenal quarterback, having many great statistical seasons in Detroit while throwing to first-ballot Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson. Stafford has thrown for 4,000 yards or more ten times in his career, including his career best in yards with 5,038 in 2011.

That season when he threw for 5,000 yards marked the start of a streak of at least 4,000 passing yards for Stafford over six straight seasons.
