Davante Adams has had a career resurgence with the Los Angeles Rams in 2025.
After two up-and-down seasons with the New York Jets, which led to him getting cut last offseason, Adams signed with the Rams and has been a dynamic playmaker in Sean McVay's offense, tallying a league-high 14 receiving yards despite missing three games due to a hamstring injury.
Though Adams has been a difference-maker this year and is expected to make his return to the lineup after a three-game absence versus the Carolina Panthers in the wild-card round, Over the Cap believes the star wide receiver's days in Los Angeles could come to a surprise end this offseason.
OTC listed Adams as a potential offseason cut candidate. The 33-year-old signed a two-year, $44 million deal with the Rams in March.
According to Over the Cap, Los Angeles would save $8 million by designating Adams as a post-June 1st cut.
Adams has dealt with injuries this season and is getting older, but it doesn't make much sense to move on from him just to save a little bit of money. When on the field, the eight-time Pro Bowler is a top target for quarterback Matthew Stafford and forms an electric duo with fellow star receiver Puka Nacua.
The Rams still have a few years left in their Super Bowl window with Stafford. Cutting one of his reliable playmakers in the middle of the window would be a foolish move.
