One of the injuries the Los Angeles Rams will be monitoring this week is the one to wide receiver Davante Adams.
Adams exited the Week 10 game in the fourth quarter after he was spotted grabbing at his back after a play. The Rams listed him with a back injury during the contest and while he was given a questionable tag, he did not get back on the field.
That is obviously concerning news for Adams' Week 11 status, but head coach Sean McVay provided a little optimism for the veteran wide receiver, saying Adams may have been able to return with what was later diagnosed as an oblique injury if the score was closer.
"I think he probably could have been able to come back in if it was a little bit closer. Kind of similar to Puka last week," McVay said to reporters.
Adams himself also provided some optimism. He noted the injury is "feeling better now" than it did during the game, but he also cautioned that "we'll see how it feels next week."
“It’s like my side oblique area, whatever. I’m not too good at anatomy, and biology, and all that," Adams said. "So, I don’t want to mislabel it, but whatever’s on this side below my ribs. Muscular situation. Something like that.”
Given Adams is already feeling better and might have been able to return to the game if he was needed, there is at least some hope that the veteran won't miss time with his injury. And, if he does, it won't be long.
We will have a better idea of where Adams stands on Wednesday, when the Rams put out their first injury report of the week ahead of the Week 11 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
