The Los Angeles Rams have a terrific collection of young talent, specifically on the defensive side of the ball. None are better, though, than the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse, who is coming off a star-making rookie campaign. Verse is so good, in fact, that a recently-retired star said Verse is a reason he retired.
Former Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead retired this offseason, ending a career that featured five Pro Bowl selections and a Second-Team All-Pro nod. When asked about players that made him retire, Armstead name dropped Verse as a player he is happy t never play against again.
"That young boy Jared Verse," Armstead said. "I'm cool. I'm good. I never gotta see that man again."
Verse is poised to take a huge leap in 2025 after a 5.5 sack rookie campaign. Should he do that and become one of the elite edge rushers in the NFL, that will only strengthen the Rams chances of getting to the Super Bowl.
