The Los Angeles Chargers currently sit atop the AFC wild card standings. With a 7-3 record, the Chargers are a game behind the Denver Broncos in the AFC West standings, but sit in front of the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars as the three teams holding playoff spots in the AFC.

The Bolts will travel to Jacksonville this Sunday to face those Jaguars, their first trip to Duval since they blew a 28-0 lead in the wild card round in the 2022 season. And while that will certainly be the overarching focus on the game, there is another sub-plot that some may not know exists.

Justin Herbert will be facing off against his brother, Patrick, who is a tight end for the Jaguars. Like Justin, Patrick also went to Oregon, catching 31 passes and four touchdowns in his career with the Ducks. He was signed by the Jaguars in April as an undrafted free agent before being released and signed to the practice squad ahead of the regular season beginning.

Speaking to Jaguars media, Patrick discussed how he feels getting set to face his brother.

"It's awesome," Herbert said via Alex Insdorf. "I think we kinda take it for granted sometimes looking at him and being like, 'oh he's been in the league for 5-6 years' or whatever. I think it's a big accomplishment. That's so cool."

Should the Chargers beat the Jaguars, that would open the door for the Kansas City Chiefs to slide in as the final wild card seed.
