The Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles will close out Week 14 of the 2025 season on Monday night at SoFi Stadium.

The Chargers went into this week with a major question mark in quarterback Justin Herbert, who suffered a broken bone in his non-throwing hand that required surgery.

Herbert was still able to practice this past week, albeit on a limited basis. After those three practices, Herbert was given the questionable tag for Week 14.

Here's what we know about Herbert's chances of suiting up on Monday night against the Eagles.

Is Justin Herbert playing tonight?

Several reports have suggested that Herbert is going to play this week, so that remains the expectation going into Monday night.

"I’m told QB Justin Herbert is trying to play despite undergoing surgery to repair a fractured left hand on Monday," The Athletic's Dianna Russini wrote.

Herbert himself has also said he plans on playing.

"That's the plan, is to prepare as if I'm going to play," Herbert said Wednesday. "See how the next couple days goes, and do everything I can to be out there for the team and for the guys."

We'll get a definitive answer around 6:45 p.m. ET on Monday night, when both the Chargers and Eagles release their inactives.

Justin Herbert DFS start or sit advice

Herbert enters Week 14 ranked as QB8 overall in fantasy points per game, and he faces an Eagles defense that is middle-of-the-road when it comes to giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks.

However, we'd be lying if we said we weren't extremely concerned about Herbert this week.

Herbert isn't likely to be 100% and while the injury is to his non-throwing hand, he could still be hampered by it. Also, the fear of him re-injuring his hand and leaving the game early is a realistic possibility.

With their prices being similar in DFS, we would prefer Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts over Herbert on Monday night.
