The Los Angeles Chargers appear to have an injury concern with running back Omarion Hampton.
According to Daniel Popper of The Athletic, the rookie running back was spotted wearing a walking boot on his left ankle after the Chargers' 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders.
"Omarion Hampton just left the locker room with a walking boot on his left ankle," Popper reported.
Of course, this now raises concern for Hampton's status for the Week 6 game versus the Miami Dolphins. We can only hope that the boot was just done as a precaution and the rookie isn't dealing with something significant.
After two big games in a row, Hampton came back down to Earth a bit in the Week 5 loss to Washington, as he tallied 12 carries for 44 scoreless yards and caught six passes for 26 yards in what was a bad afternoon for Los Angeles' offense.
The Chargers are already dealing with a significant injury at running back after the team lost Najee Harris for the season with a torn Achilles' tendon.
Hassan Haskins is the only other running back on the team's 53-man roster, as the team still has Kimani Vidal, who was elevated for Sunday, on the practice squad. Rookie Amar Johnson is also on the practice squad.
If Hampton is forced to miss time, the Chargers will have to make a move at running back. They probably should make one no matter what, though.
