The Los Angeles Chargers are finally due to get Omarion Hampton back from injury soon to take over a role at running back.
The question is how much he'll get to do alongside Kimani Vidal.
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh weighed in on this, sort of, in his Thursday press conference.
First, Harbaugh said this about Vidal: "The proof is in the pudding with the way he's played...He's played like a number 1 back."

Then, Harbaugh shared with reporters how he loves the way Vidal takes on contact, saying it "warms the cockles of the heart."

He said it "warms the cockles of the heart" to see Vidal embrace contact and take on defenders.

Will that win Vidal the majority of the carries when Hampton comes back? There's really no way of knowing that.
But it's clear that Harbaugh likes him. He speaks eloquently about the players on his roster that he's a particularly big fan of (no one more than Justin Herbert).
It seems Vidal should still see solid work at least for a bit while Hampton gets up to speed. And the Chargers are in the playoff hunt -- they need to play the guy who's performing the best, no matter the draft pedigree.
