Many Los Angeles Chargers fans didn't seem to be terribly thrilled when the team chose to re-sign center Bradley Bozeman last week. Though he is familiar with Greg Roman's scheme, the fanbase felt he played poorly last year and the team should have moved on.

Now, he will have to earn his keep in 2025. On Tuesday, the Chargers agreed to terms with former Las Vegas Raiders center Andre James, who, at the very least, will push Bozeman this summer. James played at UCLA in college, so this will be somewhat of a homecoming for him.

Undrafted in 2019, James has spent the past six seasons with the Raiders, playing in 89 games and making 60 starts. He could be a solid scheme fit for this Chargers' offense and he could easily overtake Bozeman for the starting job.

Bozeman, who turned 30 back in November, started all 17 games at center for the Chargers last season. James is three years younger and started 59 games over the last four seasons in Las Vegas.

The Chargers have the makings of having the best line in the NFL in 2025 with Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt at the tackle positions and free-agent signing Mekhi Becton. The one question was at the center position and now, the team has created competition there.

James will either push Bozeman to be better or he will take his place, making this a good move for the Bolts.
