The Los Angeles Chargers are still tinkering with their overall roster ahead of the start of the 2025 regular season.

On Sunday, the team brought back a wide receiver it had all summer and added a new running back to the mix after holding tryouts.

Luke Grimm, an undrafted wide receiver out of Kansas, was a popular pick by the fanbase to stick with the team this year. That was bolstered when he had this punt return for a touchdown in the preseason. However, two lost fumbles in the preseason finale seemed to seal his fate.

The Chargers have decided to add him back to the practice squad along with running back Amar Johnson. In corresponding moves, offensive lineman Karsen Barnhart was released from the practice squad and wide receiver Jalen Reagor has been placed on the practice squad injured list.

Amar Johnson won a tryout that featured a quarter of running backs, including Owen Wright, Anthony Tyus and Keilan Robinson.

Johnson joined the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State this summer. He rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns during the preseason, leaving many to believe he would at least make the practice squad. Surprisingly, he did not.

Johnson will join Nyheim Hines-Miller as running backs on the practice squad and his addition could help make up for the team losing Raheim Sanders, who was scooped up off waivers by the Cleveland Browns following roster cuts.
