Geno Smith may very well not be the long-term answer at quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders.

With just a 2-7 record this season, the Raiders have been a major disappointment, and Smith's turnover-prone ways haven't helped.

But Vegas might have bigger problems.

ESPN released a new article on Thursday that breaks down what each of the league's five worst teams would target if they ended up with the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Raiders wouldn't go with a quarterback, according to the article.

Beat reporter Ryan McFadden writes that their biggest need is edge rusher.

"The Raiders need a succession plan for Smith," McFadden begins. "However, the Raiders... Need to address the defensive line. Las Vegas' pass rush has been among its deficiencies in 2025. The Raiders are 25th in sacks (18) and 30th in pressure rate (27%). Maxx Crosby has been solid this season, but he needs help."

Ohio State's Arvell Reese would be the logical choice for that spot.

"The Raiders have struggled to find Crosby a good running mate in previous drafts and free agency, but Reese's speed and power would match the relentlessness that Crosby plays with," writes ESPN's Matt Miller.

The quarterback question isn't going away.

But the Raiders also have three star QBs to get after on the other teams in the AFC West. So they could go that route at or near the top of the draft.
