The Las Vegas Raiders have signed the son of one of the best players in NFL history.

Brenden Rice is the newest member of the Raiders organization on Tuesday.

Rice signed a reserve/futures contract to be with the Raiders during the offseason, according to the league's official transactions wire.

Yes, Rice is the son of Jerry Rice, the greatest wide receiver of all time.

Rice spent a portion of this season on the New England Patriots' practice squad, but he has yet to catch a regular season NFL pass.

He had previously spent the summer with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers took Rice in the seventh round in 2024 after he split his college career between Colorado and USC. He scored 12 touchdowns as a senior with the Trojans.

As a rookie, Rice played in three games. He totaled three offensive snaps and 10 special-teams snaps.

He didn't catch a pass or record a tackle as a rookie before being placed on injured reserve in November.

He's an intriguing talent at 6-foot-3 with a 4.50-second 40-yard dash and 36.5-inch vertical leap.

It can't be easy to try to follow in his father's footsteps, but Rice keeps getting new opportunities.

The Raiders will certainly have snaps to be won as they come off an absolutely miserable season that landed them the No. 1 overall pick.

Maybe Rice can impress in the offseason and move toward a roster spot for next season.
