Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty reveals plans for his rookie season in bold 3-word message image

Ashton Jeanty doesn't need any training wheels in the NFL.

The Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back is ready for his regular season debut on Sunday against the New England Patriots.

You know there's some hype around a player when he gets a preseason interview with GQ before playing a regular season snap.

That's what happened for Jeanty, and in the GQ interview, he summed up his role in Vegas: "I'm the guy."

"They let me know every single day I'm the guy," Jeanty said. "They're counting on me to do some special things in this offense."

Jeanty was the Heisman runner-up in his final collegiate season at Boise State as he helped the Broncos reach the College Football Playoff.

And he'll run you over.

“I don’t really shy away from contact, and once I make my read, I get north and south quickly. If you’re in the way, that’s your fault,” Jeanty told GQ. “Everybody doesn’t like that. I don’t know why I like it. Maybe I’m a little bit psychotic.”

Jeanty was the No. 6 overall pick, a rare honor for a running back in the modern NFL. He looks up to the guys keeping the workhorse RB alive.

“Saquon’s done a great job at putting great things on display for the running back position and showing our value to the team by winning the biggest game possible,” Jeanty told GQ. “Not only that, there’s so many other great guys [at the position] like Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs. Me getting drafted as high as I did showed the value is coming back.”

Jeanty wants to add his name to that list of stars, and he seems primed to do so.
