Raiders' RB Ashton Jeanty stats today raise concerns about 1st-round rookie image

For Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty, there's some good news and some bad news.

The good? Jeanty got his biggest workload of the season on Sunday in Week 3 against the Washington Commanders.

The not so good? Jeanty still didn't do a ton with it.

Jeanty's final stats:

  • 17 carries
  • 63 yards

That works out to 3.7 yards per carry for Jeanty.

The Raiders got blown out by Washington, which made it a game that Vegas had to pass a decent amount in, but in reality, they played pretty committed to the run.

Jeanty got his chances, but behind a subpar offensive line, he just didn't have much space to break out without having to first beat some defenders meeting him near the line of scrimmage.

It's still clear Jeanty is talented, as you'd expect with a RB picked in the top 10.

But so far, he hasn't had the start to his NFL career that he would've wanted.

The Raiders look committed to giving him the ball, and hopefully for Vegas fans, Jeanty finally starts to break off a few big gainers soon.
