Jakobi Meyers details roadblock in Raiders contract dispute: 'I ain't trippin'" image

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon and went into detail about his contract dispute with the team.

Meyers is seeking a new contract as he enters the final year of his current deal, but with nothing getting done, the veteran wideout has reportedly requested a trade.

Despite the negative situation, Meyers hasn't held out and will be taking the field in Week 1 against his former team, the New England Patriots.

Meyers revealed that he believes he deserves an extension after a career year in 2024, but the Raiders apparently disagree, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic.

"I ain't trippin'," Meyers said of not getting a new deal.

When asked why he didn't hold out amid his desire for a new contract, Meyers said it was because of his loyalty to his teammates.

Meyers posted a career-high 1,027 yards in 2024, which is made more impressive by the fact that he had a terrible quarterback situation.

In 2025, Meyers is tasked with being the team's No. 1 wide receiver and No. 2 pass-catcher behind Brock Bowers, so he's incredibly important to the offense.

If he can put together another season like he had in 2024, Meyers will set himself up for a nice payday in 2026, whether it's from the Raiders or someone else.
