When will Travis Kelce decide on NFL future? Chiefs TE reveals all image

The 2025 curtain has come down on the Kansas City Chiefs, and it might have come down on the career of tight end Travis Kelce, too.

With the veteran finishing his 13th NFL season, speculation is running wild regarding what he will do in 2026.

Will he retire and ride off into the sunset as one of the best tight ends ever? Or will he give it one more go around with Kansas City? No one knows.

But when can we expect a decision on Travis' future? As it turns out, even he doesn't know.

"Who knows?" Kelce said, via  Nate Taylor of ESPN. "Either it hits me quick or I've got to take some time. Last year was a little bit easier. I think I knew right away I wanted to kind of give this one [year] a shot. We'll see."

Is 2025 a natural Kelce stopping point?

You can definitely make that case.

Travis has accomplished everything in the league. There's nothing left to prove. The dynasty is over, and perhaps most importantly, the personnel changes that will be coming might dictate what Kelce does.

Having been at the pinnacle of the NFL for the past five years, the Chiefs are going through significant change this offseason, in an attempt to reset the roster and build the next dynasty they hope.

But Kelce, at the ripe age of 36, won't be around for it. So, it makes sense to put things in place so a younger tight end can take over.

Either way, the next couple of months will be interesting regarding what the future Hall of Famer does.
