Travis Kelce's slow start to the season has been one of several storylines for the Kansas City Chiefs, who began the year 0-2 for the first time in over a decade.
The veteran tight end had just 108 yards on the season entering Week 3's contest against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. Kelce's production is notable considering his age and that there have been rumors of retirement at the end of the year.
For now, though, Kelce and the Chiefs have to figure out a way to turn their season around, and it starts with understanding Kelce's role on this team. Here is how he's performed so far in Week 3.

Travis Kelce stats vs. Giants
- Receptions: 4
- Yards: 26
- Yards per catch: 6.5
- Touchdowns: 0
Kelce's struggles continued in the first half against the Giants, as he totaled just three catches for 13 yards in 30 minutes. That included a pair of missed connections with Patrick Mahomes, as the duo hasn't been able to get on the same page so far this year.
The second hald wasn't much better for Kelce, as he produced just one catch for 13 yards in that span. Overall, Kelce had 26 receiving yards and now has 134 receiving yards on the year.
How old is Travis Kelce?
Kelce will turn 36 years-old during the first week of October as he plays in his 13th season in the NFL. He is the oldest player on the team and one of only four Kansas City players who are at least 30 years old.
Travis Kelce-Andy Reid incident
In the second quarter, NBC caught Reid and Kelce getting into an argument on the sidelines following a Chiefs missed field goal. That drive, which started promising, stalled again with Kansas City again failing to reach the goal line.

This isn't the first time that Reid and Kelce have gotten into an argument on the sidelines, as they notably had a similar incident in Super Bowl 58 vs. the San Francisco 49ers.

The incident is a snapshot of the Chiefs' season so far, which has been as slow as it's ever been in Andy Reid's tenure. This is the first time since 2014 that Kansas City started 0-2 during a season, which also happened to be Kelce's second season in the league.
At halftime, Reid seemed to imply that he was trying to fire the team up.
"We need some juice," he said. "So that's good."
Melissa Stark: We've seen a lot of frustration and emotion from your key players, star players, on the sideline. What's your message to the team?

After the game, Reid explained why he often gets intense with Kelce.
"That guy's all in," Reid said, via Harold R. Kuntz. "Just sometimes I have to play policeman."
