The Kansas City Chiefs could be forgiven for looking ahead to their vacation plans next week with just one regular-season game left in the season.

But that's not how they are approaching it.

On the road against the Las Vegas Raiders, it is one last chance to get something positive rolling heading into the offseason.

And for Matt Nagy and his offense, he's going to make sure they don't end the season with a whimper.

"Big picture offensively, all of us understanding that the season didn't go as we wanted to in the end,” Nagy said. “There was parts of the year in the middle of the season where we really felt like we were at a peak level offensively, it didn't last the whole way through the year. Now, here we are at the end of the year playing in this game that is important to us to finish strong.

"It's our job to do that, and then in the end win. The last several games didn't go how we wanted, but we want to finish on a high note.”

Oladokun getting rare chance

Week 18 is meaningless for a lot of players not in the postseason, but for others, it is another chance to ensure their future in the league for 2026.

One such player is quarterback Chris Oladokun.

With Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew injured, the Chiefs' quarterback position will change this offseason.

But with a good game against the Raiders, Oladokun might give the coaching staff something to think about regarding who could be Patrick's backup next season.

So yes, in a sense, Week 18 means nothing for some, but for Oladokun, it's a chance to throw his hat into the ring for next season.
