Travis Kelce's future with the Kansas City Chiefs is up in the air as the 2025 season has come to an end.
Kelce is contemplating retirement after 12 seasons. The 36-year-old has nothing else to prove in the NFL, as Kelce has won three Super Bowls and is one of the greatest tight ends in the history of the sport.
We've seen a decline in Kelce's game over the last two years, as he failed to reach 900 receiving yards in 2023 and 2024, a feat he achieved seamlessly just a few seasons ago.
If Kelce calls it a career this offseason, Kansas City will need to move quickly to replace the future Hall of Famer. FOX Sports' Rob Rang predicts the Chiefs will use the No. 9 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Kelce's replacement, Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq.
Here is what Rang had to say about Sadiq and his potential fit with the Chiefs.
"They could use the draft to help replace another living legend in Travis Kelce, who might be hanging up his cleats. Sadiq isn’t as big or sure-handed as Kelce, but he’s a bowling ball with the rock in his hands and a ferocious blocker who could make Kansas City more versatile on offense."
Sadiq is still developing as a receiver, but the Oregon standout is a tenacious run blocker who would be a valuable asset to Kansas City's rushing attack that will need to be strong next year due to the uncertainty surrounding Patrick Mahomes' health.
Though Sadiq isn't a high-level receiving threat yet, he's making strides in that area. He has hauled in eight touchdowns this season for the Ducks and has put together some dynamic performances throughout the year.
Taking Sadiq with a top-10 selection could be a bit high, but the 20-year-old has the potential to develop into an explosive playmaker for Mahomes and fill the void left by Kelce if the veteran does end up reiterating.
