Did Chiefs 'silence critics' with Ravens curb-stomping? image

The Kansas City Chiefs might have just sent a little message to the rest of the NFL after their 37-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens - they're still the top dogs.

Having looked disjointed and downright awful on offense, many were ready to write the Chiefs off, but we weren't ready to put that nail in the coffin.

And Sunday's game against the Ravens felt like a turning point in this early season. Kansas City got Xavier Worthy back, and for NFL.com's Kevin Patra, it might have gotten its mojo back, too.

“The K.C. offense silenced the critics, splashing big plays all over the field,” Patra wrote. “The Chiefs marched up and down the field, scoring on seven of their first eight possessions, and didn’t punt until garbage time.

“As K.C. gets its weapons back, we’ll finally begin to see the Chiefs offense we expected entering the season.”

Are Chiefs "really" back?

In truth, it is one good game out of four, but there are signs of life, and yes, we have to factor in how poor Baltimore's defense has been, allowing, on average, 33 points per game, which ranks last in the NFL.

Sunday felt like a weight had been lifted off the Chiefs' shoulders. Was that due to Xavier Worthy's return? Possibly, but the Ravens simply couldn't stop anything Kansas City did.

This feels like a "get well game" for the Chiefs offense, and with Rashee Rice set to also return in the coming weeks, maybe, just maybe, after three weeks of being asleep, this AFC juggernaut might be about to awaken.

Buckle up.
