A former Kansas City Chiefs draft pick is set to be available and star defensive lineman Chris Jones wants to see his team reunite with the player.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on Thursday morning that the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to waive defensive tackle Khalen Saunders, who they acquired through a trade with the New Orleans Saints during the offseason.

Saunders had a rough go of it in Jacksonville, as the two-time Super Bowl champ appeared in just two games while being a healthy scratch for the other seven.

Clearly, things didn't work out for him in Duval and now Saunders is looking for a fresh start.

Saunders will go to waivers and Jones is hoping the Chiefs scoop him up.

"Gotta get my brother back," he said, according to AtoZ Sports' Charles Goldman. Hopefully, he's one of those guys that we can get back in the system."

Saunders was a third-round pick of the Chiefs in 2019 and appeared in 38 games (five starts) for Kansas City over four seasons.

He departed for the Saints in free agency in 2023 and spent two seasons there before his unsuccessful stint with the Jags.

Saunders started in 27 of the 30 contests he played in with New Orleans.

Before the trade deadline passed, the Chiefs were reportedly shopping around for a defensive tackle, so there's reason to believe they could be interested in a reunion with Saunders.

Assuming the Jaguars officially cut him loose on Thursday, Saunders will hit waivers on Friday, so the Chiefs can put in a bid then.

However, Saunders could draw interest from plenty of teams looking for a tackle with starting and playoff experience, so there's no guarantee the Chiefs land him.
