Xavier Worthy isn't going to be giving up his role as deep-threat, big-play wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs.
But he might be adding a new position to his repertoire, too.
Meet the (probably) new Chiefs punt returner.
Worthy didn't return a single punt as a rookie.
But earlier this offseason, Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub called Worthy "the best punt returner nobody knows about right now in the league."
Worthy was asked by Kay Adams if he'll indeed hold that role this season.
“Oh man, I don’t know,” Worthy said. “Stay tuned. Stay tuned. I can’t drop that yet."

He's plenty confident.
“I think every time I touch the ball, I’m liable to score, so if I have that chance to be on punt return and change the game for my team, I’m gonna do it,” Worthy said.
Kansas City is looking for a way to bounce back from a brutal Super Bowl loss to the Eagles.
Putting Worthy back to return punts might be one subtle way to improve the Chiefs to try to climb back to the top of the mountaintop.
