A common theme is emerging this offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Running back is a big need.

Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco have been serviceable players, but now the franchise, in a soft reset, needs more.

I've thrown out Breece Hall as one player the Chiefs could target, having already tried to trade for the New York Jets star this season.

But Bleacher Report's Alex Kay has another player that the Chiefs should be looking at.

And that's Jacksonville's Travis Etienne.

"There is a clear need for upgrades after Kansas City's running attack completely cratered in 2025," Kay wrote. "Etienne represents a massive upgrade over both incumbents. With the ability to effectively run between the tackles, hit home run plays after bouncing it outside and contribute at a high level in the passing attack, Etienne has all the tools to become the type of do-it-all lead back the Chiefs have sorely lacked in recent years."

Is Etienne what Chiefs need?

Home-run speed, the ability to be a bell-cow, a reliable pass catcher with highlight reel potential.

Yes, Travis ticks a lot of boxes for the Chiefs.

Money will be a factor here, too, with Spotrac.com having his calculated market value at just $6 million APY, which is an absolute steal.

With Etienne's speed and electricity out of the back field, the Chiefs' offense would have a new dynamic as teams wouldn't be able to drop back in coverage. Do that, and Travis could run riot.

Running back is a big emphasis for Kansas City, and getting Etienne in the building would give the Chiefs some serious juice in the run game.
