There's no sugarcoating it: the 2025 season for the Kansas City Chiefs hasn't been good.
Yes, there have been bright spots, but injuries and inconsistencies on both sides of the ball, coupled with the inability to make crucial plays late in games, have plagued this team.
Now, with three games left in the season, with playoffs off the table, this isn't a spot the Chiefs are used to being in during the Patrick Mahomes era.
And for offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, he's revealed what the most frustrating part of the 2025 season has been for his unit.
"The most frustrating part is the lack of consistency," Nagy said. "Every team has injuries, they all handle adversity, when you go through these moments, and let's face it, there's been a lot of success in this organization, so when you stumble into some of this, we had a stretch there where we were as confident we've been in years.
"Then you get to the last couple games, sometimes it just feels hard to even get that first down."

Can Chiefs find consistency in final three games?
Some think that it doesn't matter because the season is over, but there is a real benefit to finding solutions now to take into the offseason.
If the Chiefs are still plagued by the things that doomed their season in the final three weeks, the task at hand in the offseason will be even greater.
So, Nagy and the coaching staff have to get some sort of consistent play from the offense in these final three games. Yes, it will be hard without Mahomes, but the Chiefs have to find something to hang their hats on and take into the offseason.
The year is done, but that doesn't mean there aren't things to build on, and for Nagy, his offense finding consistency is job No. 1.
