The Kansas City Chiefs had several things go wrong in the 2025 season.
For the first time in a decade, the team failed to win the AFC West and missed out on the postseason for the first time since Patrick Mahomes has been a starter.
Speaking of Mahomes, the star quarterback went down with a serious injury late in the season in a scary moment for the team. Mahomes is incredible, but his injury may make the team realize they need to improve the roster around him.
For example, the Chiefs have not been a good rushing team for several years now. The team has not had a 1,000-yard rusher since the 2017 season and Kareem Hunt led the team with just 611 yards in 2025.
To solve this problem, PFSN's Ryan Guthrie is predicting that the team will sign running back Breece Hall this offseason.
Hall had his first 1,000-yard season in 2025 right as he prepares to enter free agency. The former second-round pick is also a great pass-catcher and he could thrive in Kansas City.
Regarding Hall and the Chiefs, Guthrie offered the following:
The Chiefs know they need more juice in the backfield. Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco aren’t enough.
Kansas City nearly traded for Breece Hall at the deadline, and the fit is obvious. His pass-catching ability gives Patrick Mahomes a dangerous outlet as Mahomes continues working back from injury. Hall could immediately rank among the league leaders in RB receiving production.
