With the Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 season now officially over, we have come to the time of the NFL calendar that shows us how brutal the game can be.

With player retention and cuts set to happen over the coming months, players will know whether they have a job heading into 2026.

Most of the time, it comes down to money, given the salary cap squeeze, and for the Chiefs, they have a decision to make on former first-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah.

Taken with the 31st overall pick in 2023, the Chiefs have to decide if they will pick up his fifth-year option.

And for NFL.com's Marc Ross, he thinks the Chiefs shouldn't.

"The Chiefs must quickly improve their pass rush if they don't want a repeat of this season, and unfortunately, Anudike-Uzomah's output to this point does not suggest he'll be a part of that solution," Ross wrote.

Chiefs set for offseason shake-up

With the dynasty officially over, the Chiefs are heading for a soft reset this offseason.

Steve Spagnuolo and Matt Nagy are both interviewing for head coaching jobs, so Kansas City could enter the new season with different coordinators.

Plus, players like Anudike-Uzomah will have their play evaluated with the coaching staff having to make some tough roster decisions in the coming months.

The winds of change are blowing through the franchise for the first time in years.

And we get the sense there will be a lot of moving and shaking from the Chiefs this offseason.
