Chiefs free agent prediction gets $29 million RB to help Patrick Mahomes image

The Kansas City Chiefs simply haven't had a good running game for a while.

The general expectation around the NFL is that the Chiefs will look to solve that in free agency this offseason.

There are a lot of options, with Breece Hall floated as one possible solution.

Bleacher Report's Alex Kay sees a different outcome in play, though: Kenneth Walker.

The Seahawks' star will be a free agent, too, and might be slightly less costly than Hall.

Kay's prediction for Walker with the Chiefs is a three-year contract worth $29 million.

"While Kansas City will have to make some cost-saving moves to offer Walker the type of money he'll command on the open market, it could rejuvenate the ground game and help the team make up for the potential loss of Patrick Mahomes as the three-time Super Bowl champion works his way back from an ACL tear," Kay writes.

Mahomes' return date is far from set in stone. The Chiefs don't know if they'll be missing him for a couple weeks or a bunch of weeks.

Walker would provide stability, and he's quite the explosive player, too, more so than any of the backs currently getting a bulk of carries for the Chiefs.

He may not be as well-known as some backs who play in bigger NFL markets, but Walker is a legitimate potential star in the right system.

Andy Reid and Mahomes would surely get the most out of Walker. He might be the right guy to revitalize the Chiefs on the ground.
