The Kansas City Chiefs' offense in 2025 was average to say the least.

Managing just 21.3 points per game, which ranked 21st, the Chiefs struggled to be a consistent performer with Patrick Mahomes at the helm.

Now armed with a top draft pick, the Chiefs have several avenues they could go down with the No. 9 selection. The offensive line, running back, and maybe another receiver for Mahomes are all options.

For PFF's Dalton Wasserman, getting the explosive element to the offense back is crucial for the Chiefs in the draft.

"Kansas City ranked 25th in explosive pass rate and 31st in explosive run rate, excluding quarterback scrambles," Wasserman wrote. "With the help of an improved offensive line and more explosive skill players, the Chiefs need to find a way to create more big plays for their offense."

Should Chiefs go offense in NFL Draft?

Well, that seems to be the way most people are leaning.

And in several mock drafts, it is running back Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame that has been linked to Kansas City.

The offensive line could also be in play with Mahomes sacked 34 times in just 14 games, which is two shy of his career high. It is no use having weapons if Mahomes doesn't have the time to get the ball to them.

So, there are two positions of need that the Chiefs could look to address, with the offense needing its explosive element back.

Could they maybe trade for a stud receiver to bolster Mahomes' weapons even further? That might be on the table as well.
