The Kansas City Chiefs may have gotten their first win of the season, slaying a poor New York Giants team 22-9 at MetLife Stadium, but it was far from smooth sailing.

While the Chiefs did seem to find their groove in the second half, the first? Yeah, it was ugly viewing.

Kansas City struggled to move the ball, and when it did, it couldn't convert its chances into touchdowns, settling for field goals. After one field goal, cameras captured a rather tense moment between head coach Andy Reid and Travis Kelce, with the pair bumping into each other and appearing to yell at each other.

For a Chiefs team that was on the brink on Sunday night, that feels like a big deal, right?

Well, not so much.

“I love Travis's passion, so I'm okay with that,” Reid said. “We didn't have enough of it [in] that second quarter, wasn't where we needed to be. So, within reason, he knows he knows when to back off the pedal and knows when to push it, too. So, that's part I love about him. The guy's all in, just sometimes I have to be the policeman.”

“Don't make too much of it.”

Chiefs' Travis Kelce and Reid in previous scuffles

While the incident on Sunday night was eyebrow-raising, it is worth noting that this isn't the first time the pair have come together on the sideline like that.

In the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers, both Reid and Kelce came together as Travis bumped Reid while yelling at his head coach.

So, this is nothing new for the duo, and while Reid has stated that he loves Kelce's passion and sometimes he has to play policeman, I'm sure he would rather not have to keep his star tight end in line.

But nevertheless, the Chiefs got the win and their teeth into the season, and with the Baltimore Ravens up next, Kansas City is going to need all of Kelce's "passion" if it is to win back-to-back games for the first time this year.
