The Kansas City Chiefs' offensive struggles were evident against the Los Angeles Chargers. They played without Rashee Rice and now will miss Xavier Worthy for several games. This will make life even tougher for Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs need to reinforce their wide receiver corps, and there's no better option than Tyreek Hill. With the WR frustrated in Miami, a trade could prove to be a win-win for all parties involved.
If they follow recent advice from ESPN analyst Domonique Foxworth, Kansas City could be making a bold move at wide receiver. Speaking on "Get Up," Foxworth insisted the Chiefs should bet on a surprise comeback by Hill to boost their struggling offense.
"We got to get some help down there for Patrick Mahomes," Foxworth said. "They might need to call Tyreek and make that trade. These are some situations where Mahomes, of course, there's some pressure, but the deep threat is going to predicate the strength of this offense and most offenses in football."
Foxworth pointed to the Chiefs' current challenges throwing deep. "When you watch the All-22, the Chargers were sitting on routes, just letting Hollywood Brown run up on their chest before they would even turn," he added. "And then he's throwing deep balls that no one's getting open. This guy is frustrated there, too."
Since Hill's departure in 2022, the Chiefs have struggled to connect on deep passes.
"It's worth a chance for both teams to get a little bit of a fresh start," Foxworth said.
There's more pessimism surrounding the Chiefs in 2025 than we've seen in recent years. The primary cause is last season's Super Bowl loss. Adding to that, their struggles in the opener and now injuries will play a major role. The Chiefs need that trade more than Tyreek Hill himself.
