There has been a major setback in Travis Hunter's rookie season.
Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 9 trip to take on the Las Vegas Raiders, Hunter was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. The news came as Hunter & Co. Were returning to action from a bye week; in his last outing, Hunter scored the first touchdown of his NFL career.
Now, the focus has shifted to his future, as the latest reports indicate Hunter will be sidelined from NFL action for longer than initially expected. The two-way star play limited roles on both sides of the ball in 2025, as anticipated, but is now sidelined with an injury.
Here is what to know about Hunter's injury.

What is Travis Hunter's injury?
Hunter sustained a knee injury in practice on Thursday, Oct. 30, according to Jaguars head coach Liam Coen. Adding to the concern was that Hunter's injury was sustained without contact. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Ian Rapoport reported that Hunter underwent LCL repair surgery, which is expected to end his 2025 season.
Hunter's knee showed no damage outside of the LCL, per Rapoport.

How long is Travis Hunter out?
Hunter will miss the remainder of the 2025 NFL season, per Rapoport. The LCL surgery he underwent was considered to be season-ending, and Hunter now has "eyes set on 2026."
Initially, the extent of Hunter's injury was not known, and he was placed on IR by the Jaguars. But after further evaluations, the team and Hunter decided their best course of action was for the rookie to get his knee healthy for 2026 and beyond.
Hunter is "expected to return to full football activities within six months," per Schefter.
In Hunter's absence, Brian Thomas, trade addition Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington are expected to step up on Jacksonville's WR depth chart for the rest of the 2025 season.
