Jaguars' Travis Hunter gets $46.6 million contract update image

The new era of Jacksonville Jaguars football is going to revolve a lot around Travis Hunter, the former Colorado Buffaloes two-way star who just won the Heisman Trophy.

So far, Hunter is wasting no time making his presence felt in Jaguars practice as he has made plays on both sides of the football.

But, there is one lingering concern: Hunter has not signed his rookie deal.

On Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network gave an update on Hunter's contract status, and he didn't seem too worried about him not being signed.

"I don't expect a holdout. We rarely, rarely, rarely see a holdout, but I do think this will take some time," Rapoport said. "But if you're talking about Jaguars fans, you're talking about Jaguars people, I don't think they have anything to worry about because he's almost certainly going to be participating in training camp. You'd think they will figure out a way to get it done by then."

Hunter was selected second overall in the draft after the Jaguars traded up from No. 5. As a result, his rookie value is as follows, per Spotrac: $46.571 million over four years, with a $30.5 million signing bonus.

So, there isn't a ton of wiggle room for the Jaguars on that front, although there could be some incentives they add in for the two-way sensation.

Although Hunter isn't signed right now, it doesn't appear to be a problematic issue for either side.
