Jaguars reveal Travis Hunter plans for Week 1 with depth chart unveiling image

Travis Hunter is unlike any player seen in the NFL in generations.

And that has begged the question: How are the Jacksonville Jaguars going to use this two-way rookie out of Colorado?

They've at least laid out a potential plan heading into Week 1.

The Jaguars released a depth chart on Tuesday, and Hunter is listed as a wide receiver and a cornerback.

The key, though, is in the details.

Hunter is listed as a starting wide receiver.

Hunter is also listed as a backup cornerback.

That suggests what many have speculated about throughout the preseason based on Hunter's usage: That he'll be a nearly full-time WR who gets some CB snaps.

That doesn't necessarily have to hold as the plan all year, but it's the way the Jags plan to line things up in the early going.

Having Hunter alongside Brian Thomas Jr. on the WR depth chart is pretty potent.

Hunter is a star cornerback potentially, as well, but the Jags will likely proceed with at least a bit of caution in the early going to make sure the No. 2 overall pick and Heisman Trophy winner stays intact as long as possible.

It's an exciting era in Jacksonville, which doesn't always have great reasons to be excited about the dawn of a new football season.

This time, though, the energy is high. The Travis Hunter Era is officially here.
