Jaguars legend Maurice Jones-Drew chimes in on NFL comeback from retirement image

Philip Rivers' comeback from retirement to play quarterback for the Colts at age 44 has everyone talking.

That includes Jacksonville Jaguars fans, who want Maurice Jones-Drew back in the action.

One fan tweeted at MJD on Monday after the news that rookie RB Bhayshul Tuten is set to miss time with an injury.

Jones-Drew saw it and responded, ruining any hopes of a comeback for him:

Jones-Drew is 40 years old.

The 5-foot-7 running back hasn't played in the NFL since 2014.

His first eight seasons were with the Jaguars, who had chosen him in the second round in 2006 out of UCLA.

With the Jags, MJD ran for 8,071 yards and 68 touchdowns while adding 2,873 receiving yards and another 11 scores.

He played his final season with the Raiders in 2014, racking up just 96 yards rushing and 71 yards receiving in 12 games.

Jones-Drew has spent time as a commentator since his retirement.

It's probably fair not to expect any RB comeback like the one Rivers made, which came after almost five years away from the NFL.

Given the strength and speed and agility required to play running back, it'd be tough to pull off such a comeback. MJD is just fine watching the games, not playing.
