Prior to his injury, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange was on pace for a career-best season.
Strange tallied 204 receiving yards over his first five games this season, which was almost half of what he posted in 17 games in 2024.
Unfortunately, Strange landed on injured reserve in Week 6 after suffering a hip injury in Week 5 that has kept him sidelined ever since.
The Jaguars designated Strange to return last week, but the team did not activate him for Week 11 after he failed to log a single full session at practice.
Strange was once again limited all week at practice and that left his status for the Week 12 contest up in the air. However, we got our answer on his chances to play Sunday on Saturday afternoon.
Is Brenton Strange playing this week?
The Jaguars activated Strange off injured reserve on Saturday, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Strange is indeed expected to suit up on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
"Jaguars activated TE Brenton Strange from injured reserve and he is expected to play Sunday versus the Cardinals," Schefter wrote.
This is a huge boost for a Jaguars passing attack that will once again be without wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., whose ankle injury will keep him sidelined for a third-consecutive game.
Jacksonville is also without the services of wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, who is out for the season after an LCL injury to his knee.
Strange joins a pass-catchers group that includes Parker Washington and deadline acquisition Jakobi Meyers. The Jaguars tight end could have a massive role in the offense moving forward.
