The Indianapolis Colts took a swing on raw upside on Tuesday morning.

That's what they added to their roster with the signing of Bayron Matos, which was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Matos will join the Colts' practice squad after spending time with the Miami Dolphins and also doing workouts for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots.

He's a 6-foot-7, 334-pound offensive lineman who is from the Dominican Republic and played college basketball.

Matos hasn't yet appeared in an NFL regular season game, but he's clearly an intriguing package of athleticism.

He actually grew up as a baseball player, and American Football International wrote in a feature story that Matos could throw 90 miles per hour.

Matos moved to Tennessee when he was 16 and pursued basketball, the sport he enjoyed more.

He began his college basketball career at New Mexico and finished it at South Florida.

Matos also joined the USF football team as a walk-on in his final year on campus.

At his Pro Day, he ran a 4.88-second 40-yard dash, which would've been better than any lineman at the NFL Combine if he had been invited.

Matos wasn't drafted in 2024, but the Dolphins signed him as an undrafted free agent.

Miami cut Matos this summer as an injury designation, but now he's got his next chance to prove he belongs.
