As has become a regular occurrence this season, Houston Texans running back Woody Marks got banged up in Week 15 and ultimately left the game early.

Marks, who is dealing with an ankle injury, first exited early in the first quarter, but managed to return. Then, Marks got hurt again and never returned.

Looking ahead to Week 16, when the Texans will take on the Las Vegas Raiders, here's the latest injury updates on Marks.

Will Woody Marks play in Week 16?

Based on everything we know, Marks appears to have a good chance to play in Week 16.

For starters, head coach DeMeco Ryans admitted that Marks could have returned to the game if he was needed, but that was not the case with the Texans blowing the Arizona Cardinals out.

“Woody could have come back in the game,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “He got his ankle tweaked a little bit there early in the game. For where he was, felt like Jawhar and Dare were doing a good job, so wanted to keep rolling with those guys and make sure Woody is good as we continue to go into the week.”

Adding to that, Ryans considers Marks day to day.

It's very clear that Marks isn't dealing with anything serious and we are very optimistic for his chances of suiting up in Week 16.

If Marks doesn't end up playing, the Texans will have a very murky situation at running back.

Not only is Nick Chubb not certain to play after missing Week 15 due to injury, but the Texans saw an outstanding performance from fellow running back Jawhar Jordan after Marks left the game.

Jordan ripped off 101 yards on 15 carries, including a 50-yard scamper. It's very possible he leads Houston's backfield in Week 16 if Marks sits.

But if Marks plays, we fully expect him to continue serving as the lead back.
