The Houston Texans have to rely on a backup QB on Sunday.
C.J. Stroud is out, and Davis Mills is in.
That's not an ideal situation given that Houston, at 3-5, is taking on the 5-3 Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Texans really need a win this week to stay on the fringes of the playoff picture.
But if they get that victory, it'll happen without Stroud.

Why isn't C.J. Stroud playing today?
C.J. Stroud is missing Week 10 against the Jaguars with an injury.
He was concussed in Week 9.
During the second quarter, Stroud took off on a scramble, and as he slid toward the ground, he was hit hard, causing his head to snap back into the turf.
Stroud exited the game and didn't return as he was placed into concussion protocol.

When is C.J. Stroud coming back?
Stroud's return likely depends on him clearing concussion protocol.
Players often miss a week with a concussion and work their way back the following week.
Early practice reports in the upcoming week will provide hints before the Texans play the Titans in Week 11.
