Another week, another game for the Houston Texans without starting quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Stroud last played in Week 9, when he suffered a bad concussion after hitting his head on the turf in the game against the Denver Broncos. Stroud sat out in Weeks 10 and 11 and has been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Buffalo Bills.
Luckily for Houston, quarterback Davis Mills has played good enough for Houston to overcome Stroud's absences en route to winning both games, but we'll see if they can do that once again on Thursday night against the Bills.
With Stroud's Week 12 fate already decided, we're now turning our focus to Week 13 to see if Houston might get its franchise quarterback back.
Here's what we know.
When is C.J. Stroud coming back?
It looks like Stroud will be back in Week 13,
According to ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime, Stroud is expected to be ready to go for the Week 13 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
"Stroud is expected to be available to play against the Indianapolis Colts (8-2) on the road in Week 13, sources told ESPN," Bien-Aime wrote.
Stroud showed some progress in his recovery from the concussion after he turned in a limited practice on Tuesday, so that was a clear sign he was getting closer.
According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com, head coach DeMeco Ryans said he's encouraged for Stroud's outlook for next week, which only adds to the optimism.
So, there you have it: the Texans are almost certainly going to get Stroud back in Week 13.
