The Houston Texans are coming off a second consecutive AFC South division win, and they won a playoff game for the second consecutive year, as well. As training camp rolls on, they've lost Joe Mixon for an unknown amount of time due to injury, and now they have lost a rookie defensive tackle. Kyonte Hamilton suffered what appears to be a serious injury during Wednesday's practice.
"Rookie DT Kyonte Hamilton is down on the ground in pain," ESPN Texans reporter DJ Biene-Aime reports on X. "Players have taken knees. It’s very quiet out here. All you hear is the wind blowing. There’s a cart out for him."
Biene-Aime followed up shortly after that Hamilton was carted away and that it was a lower leg injury for the rookie.
Hamilton was drafted in the seventh round out of Rutgers. He had 110 career tackles and six sacks with the Scarlett Knights.
