Houston, there might be a problem.

The Texans' offense is in real, real trouble, with quarterback C.J. Stroud and the rest of his comrades struggling to get anything going through three weeks of the season.

Now 0-3, the Texans are off to a start no one would've envisioned.

Even worse, they have scored just 38 points through three games.

"An overhauled offense line and new offensive coordinator simply haven't worked so far," writes NFL.com's Judy Battista. "The offense had just 119 yards through three quarters Sunday and were still in the game only because the Jaguars were struggling, too. But in the fourth quarter, C.J. Stroud threw two interceptions and Nico Collins fumbled. Stroud continues to get hit, the running game is a non-factor and the Texans, who entered the game ranked last in scoring, can't sustain drives."

The Texans can't protect Stroud, and it looks like he knows it.

He isn't playing with the confidence of a guy who knows his line will keep him upright while he finds a receiver who gets open.

Aside from a 50-yard TD to Collins late in Sunday's game, Stroud hasn't had much positive at all in the early goings of this season.

Stroud already was coming off a bit of a sophomore slump. He put together a better rookie campaign than year two.

This season was supposed to be a reversion to the best parts of Stroud, but so far, it has been anything but.

The Texans and Stroud are together for the long haul, and there's still a lot of season left. But if they don't figure things out in a hurry, there could be more problems on the horizon in Houston.
