The Houston Texans were hoping to have Brevin Jordan as part of their tight end rotation this season.
They've got two other solid TEs, too, in Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover. But with Jordan, that would've been one of the strengths of the team.
Instead, Jordan has been out the entire season with injury.
It appeared to be bad timing when Jordan got injured in the offseason, too, because this is the final year of his contract.
Well, it was the final year of his contract.
The Texans have now signed Jordan to a one-year contract extension, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. That ensures Jordan is still with Houston next season.
"Jordan, who was set to hit free agency in 2026, is out for the season due to an ACL tear in August, but the team has plans for him in 2026," Fowler wrote on X.

Jordan was a fifth-round pick by the Texans in 2021 out of Miami.
He has played in 36 NFL games across four seasons and made 53 catches for 532 yards and five touchdowns.
At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, Jordan is a big and athletic target for QB C.J. Stroud.
He's still just 25 years old and can still have a bright NFL future. It seems like a smart move for the Texans and for Jordan to secure next season together before figuring out what the future beyond that might look like.
