The Houston Texans added a lot of new faces to their receiving corps this offseason. They acquired Christian Kirk from division-rival Jacksonville, and drafted a pair of Iowa State pass-catchers in Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel.
With all the new bodies in the room, that leaves less targets for others, including John Metchie. Moe Moton of Bleacher Report says Houston should trade Metchie before the offseason is over.
"This offseason, the Texans acquired Christian Kirk from the Jaguars and drafted Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel in the second and third rounds, respectively," Moton writes. "Houston has put the writing on the wall for Metchie's departure and should place him on the trade block. He showed the ability to overcome adversity, recovering from acute promyelocytic leukemia, and is only 24 with major upside. Metchie will have a market if available."
In 29 games over the last two seasons, Metchie has caught 40 passes while being buried on the Texans depth chart. A fresh start would probably do both he and the Texans well.
