How Texans can still clinch AFC South Division title in Week 18 image

The Houston Texans have gone a remarkable second-half run to look like one of the NFL's scariest teams heading into the playoffs.

From single-digit odds to make the postseason at the midway point, they've already clinched a playoff berth heading into Week 18. But there's still plenty to play for.

The Texans still have a path to the AFC South Division title. The division crown would come with the AFC's No. 3 seed and a first-round home game.

They've just got to leapfrog the Jacksonville Jaguars to do it.

How can the Texans still win the AFC South?

It's simple: If the Texans win on Sunday and the Jaguars lose, Houston is division champion.

Houston is taking on the Indianapolis Colts, who will be starting sixth-round rookie Riley Leonard at quarterback. It could be a field day for the Texans' defense.

The trickier part may be the Jags, who take on the Tennessee Titans. Jacksonville still has a path to ascend all the way to the AFC's 1-seed with a win, so they won't be taking a lightweight approach.

But if Cam Ward and the better-lately Titans can pull the upset of Jacksonville, and the Texans take care of their business, they could still end up celebrating a division title.
