The Houston Texans are gearing up to begin preseason play on Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings. And while there is a lot of excitement to get games started for the 2025 season, the Texans will be doing it without one of their top defenders.
New Texans safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson suffered an injury in Thursday's training camp practice, which led to him being carted off the field.
"CJ Gardner Johnson was carted off," ESPN Texans reporter DJ Bien-Aime reports. "He did not walk to the sidelines or anything. He was carted off from the spot he was injured."
It sounds as if this was serious, which means Houston could be in the market for a new safety if Gardner-Johnson is going to miss significant time.
