On the long list of players who would play starring roles in the Week 2 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Commanders, tight end Tucker Kraft's name would have been way down that list.

But in what was a blistering start to the game for the tight end, on the Packers' second drive of the game, Jordan Love hit Kraft on a seam route for a huge 57-yard gain, which would set up the offense in great field position, and Love found Romeo Doubs for a five-yard touchdown a few plays later.

And Kraft wasn't done there.

In the second quarter, Love hit Kraft again for a significant, 17-yard gain as the offense was rolling en route to another touchdown drive to go up 14-0. Kraft had three receptions for 89 yards to easily lead the Packers in yards, and the biggest problem for Washington's defensive coordinator, Joe Whitt Jr.

So, for all of the offensive weapons at Love's disposal, it was his tight end who shredded the Commanders' secondary time and time again.

Kraft is starting his season in blistering fashion

Kraft is coming off his best season as a pro in 2024, as he posted 707 yards and seven touchdowns from 50 receptions to surpass his rookie season stats easily.

And now, after his quiet Week 1 outing (16 yards, one touchdown), he was quick to remind those that of all of the Packers' offensive weapons, his name still needs to be mentioned as one to watch.

His first-half performance against the Commanders is going to make the rest of the NFL take notice because while Doubs, Chris Brooks, and Malik Heath all got their targets, it was Kraft who rose above them all to play a crucial role in his team creating separation from the Commanders.
