The Green Bay Packers are reportedly receiving calls about one of their starting offensive linemen.
According to Packer Report's Easton Butler, former seventh-round pick and offensive lineman Rasheed Walker is drawing interest from the Los Angeles Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and at least one other team.
"3 teams have called the Packers on OT Rasheed Walker, with at least one team offering a 5th round pick, per source," Butler said Monday. "The teams are the Buccaneers and Chargers, and another unnamed team."
It's easy to see why the Chargers and Buccaneers are calling.
The Chargers have been devastated by injuries upfront, and especially at the tackle position, where Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt are both out for the season.
The Chargers rank 30th in pass-block win rate and that has led to Justin Herbert getting beat up, so the need upfront is dire, especially for a Los Angeles squad competing for a division title.
The Buccaneers have been banged-up upfront this year, but Luke Goedeke is close to returning after being designated to return from injured reserve. Even still, it wouldn't hurt to at least add more depth.
While that's all well and good, it remains highly unlikely the Packers would trade Walker, who has been a full-time starter since 2023.
Granted, he is in the final year of his contract and he has struggled this season, but it simply wouldn't be smart for a Packers team with Super Bowl aspirations to cut its starting left tackle loose midseason.
Mark us down among those who would be shocked if Walker gets moved.
