Savion Williams was pretty dinged up this summer. The Green Bay Packers' third-round rookie wide receiver was recovering from offseason labrum surgery, then had both a concussion and a hamstring issue.
But things are looking up for the former TCU star.
Williams was back at Packers practice on Monday to begin Week 1 preparations for the Detroit Lions.
It's a big deal for his development, not just for his immediate availability but for his chances of growing as a player each day he can be on the field.

In the long run, Williams can be special for Green Bay.
Williams ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Draft Combine.
That came after he had a well-rounded final season at TCU with a mix of receiving and running.
He caught 60 passes for 611 yards and six touchdowns.
He ran 51 times for 322 yards and six more touchdowns.
He also completed 3-for-3 passes for 22 yards and another touchdown.

Williams was compared in the pre-draft process to the explosive Cordarrelle Patterson.
He's also already a father, having had a daughter in 2023. Her name is Legacy.
Williams would like to make a legacy of his own on NFL fields. And the first step was getting back to work on Monday.
