While the trade for Micah Parsons has significantly boosted the Green Bay Packers' defense, the truth is their pass-rush is still lacking a bit.

Despite having arguably the best defender in the NFL, the Packers have only mustered up 12 sacks in five games, which ranks tied for 19th in the league.

Rashan Gary leads the way with 4.5 sacks, but Devonte Wyatt (two) and Micah Parsons (2.5) are the only other players on the roster with two or more sacks.

For a team that is hoping to compete for a Super Bowl, more juice is needed, which is why CBS Sports' Garrett Podell has predicted a Packers trade for Arizona Cardinals defender Calais Campbell.

The Packers' pass rush has certainly been bolstered by the addition of All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons (29 quarterback pressures in 2025, tied for fourth-most in the NFL) despite the four-time Pro Bowler missing all of training with the Dallas Cowboys in a contract holdout. Green Bay ranks ninth in the NFL quarterback pressure rate (39.8%) and eighth in quarterback pressures (86).

A future Hall of Famer with 113.5 career sacks, Campbell is no doubt long in the tooth at 39 years old.

However, Campbell most definitely still has gas left in the tank, as evidenced by his three sacks and 16 pressures, which rank third among interior defenders and 15th among all defenders, respectively.

Campbell is a bit of a chess piece, also, as he can line up both on the interior and the edge, giving defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley multiple ways to use him on a unit that's already quite flexible because of Parsons.

There is a world where the Cardinals might trade Campbell. The team is currently sitting with a 2-4 record and in last place by two games. If Arizona loses a few more games before the deadline, they could sell.

For a young team like the Packers that needs more help upfront, Campbell's talent and experience would be an invaluable resource for Green Bay.
